This webinar will identify what is, and what is not, personal property, and when income may arise from the disposal of personal property. It will provide an introduction and insight into personal property rules for those new to the field and a good refresher/update for those with tax experience.

The webinar will provide an outline of IRD’s current views on certain items of personal property and different income tax outcomes under different circumstances.

The webinar will help you understand where there is intention to dispose of personal property, if someone is in the business of dealing in personal property and identify a profit-making undertaking or scheme. It will also help you understand what revenue account property is and when an item is classified as revenue account property.

This webinar will go into detail for a variety of examples of personal property such as Cryptocurrency, Gold Bullion, Shares and more.

A good understanding of Personal Property for Income tax purposes, and what may or may not give rise to income/deductions when buying and selling personal property.
