Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) 2021 – A review of the rules (Webinar)

This webinar will review the obligations and responsibilities imposed by the Fringe Benefit regime. It will cover important issues and recent developments in the area.

Tax applied to most, although not all, fringe benefits, including the ones provided through someone other than an employer. FBT is paid by the employer and is calculated with reference to the taxable value of the benefit provided to the employee or associate. In this webinar we will review the FBT regime. We will consider the FBT rules for:

  • Loans
  • Insurances
  • Motor Vehicles
  • Other Goods & Services
  • Gifts
  • Common exemptions

Benefits can be subject to FBT or treated as entertainment expenditure or taxable in the hands of the employee or they could be a deemed dividend in a private company. The course will also consider the interplay between FBT, entertainment, employee income and deemed dividends.

Satisfactory completion of this course will:

  • Equip you with the latest information affecting FBT
  • Give you an understanding of recent changes
  • Enable you to make better decisions about fringe benefits

Total CPD Hours: 1.25 (1 hour + 15 min. Q&A)

Suited to:
Employers, Corporate Accountants, and any Chartered Accountant wanting a review of the FBT issues involved with shareholder employees and
