2024 Rural Tax Advanced 2 — Horticulture and viticulture income tax rules and issues (webinar)

This course will consider the nuances of horticulture and viticulture. Specifically, we will consider:

  • the specific income tax rules for horticulture and viticulture
  • the disagreement between IRD and some practitioners on the treatment of R & M – this became particularly relevant after Cyclone Gabrielle et al
  • tax issues on purchase and sale of orchards/vineyards.

 

Upon satisfactory completion of this activity, you will be able to:

  • advise confidently on the tax rules that are specific to horticulture and viticulture
  • articulate the analysis behind the disagreement on what and how R & M for orchards and vineyards is deductible
  • appreciate the nuances of the purchase and sale of orchards/vineyards
